Haulover Beach Park, Bal Harbour

Great beach ☀️. I love how much thought the early developers put into the parking situation. For folks who haven't visited, there is an underground tunnel that links the 800+ capacity parking lot to the park/picnic grounds, which is just steps away from the beach. I should mention that handy capable parking is located at the beach grounds(across the street from general parking), so folks with disabilities don't have to schlep through the tunnel and up the stairs. The park is always well maintained and the folks that visit here are always friendly. With alert lifeguards, clean restrooms, well-kept grounds, and enough trash cans to accommodate all beach-goers, Haulover Park proves time and again that it is one of South Florida's best places to visit. A true gem of the community.

We had an awesome time. The reason for the four stars is because there was a huge shark in the water and the lifeguards did nothing to warn folks in the water to get out. He actually collided with another beach goer but he was able to swim quickly to shore. Other than that, I loved it. The people were kind, and the little food truck has amazing burgers 🍔.
