    OMG what are they playing at? Abbotsford was a great place to take our dog for a walk l. But now you have to go inside the visitor centre with dogs push chairs etc to get access to the grounds...  more »

    Cafe - Nice food, good price, nice staff - We had a Christmas lunch and the young guy (maybe Rory) looked after us well. Acted like he really cared about doing a good job, which is nice. House is beautiful and interesting and beautiful grounds. 3 year old enjoyed the treasure hunt in the house!

    A high quality attraction within the Scottish Borders. The gardens and grounds are already impressive. However, the house offers another dimension into Abbotsford's story and Sir Walter Scott. Some of the rooms have been restored to an excellent level and I'd recommend doing both of the audio tours available if you get the chance. There is plenty opportunity to do this as tickets are valid for a year. The adjoining cafe also provides some great food and refreshments to make the trip a pleasant day out.
