We started as most breeders do with some pet boys, with no intention of breeding, but it’s funny how they get under your skin and you become addicted to them. Our herd genetics boast some of the top UK, Peruvian and Australian lines, Jolimont Rodrigo II, Nytimber, etc.
You can come along and simply meet our Alpacas. Great for those too young to trek or unable to walk long distances. You’ll get to meet and feed the Alpacas (a perfect photo opportunity). All the while learning a little bit about these unique and gentle creatures.
Our Alpaca Treks are tailored from one hour to eight hours depending on group size and ability. Alpacas make ideal companions for trekking for all ages whether it be groups, singles or special occasions and is great fun for families.

What an amazing day! The drive out is beautiful and the trek was just awesome. Took our family of six out and everyone had a blast. You can tell that Jean and Stuart really love their alpacas, and are willing to share their knowledge with everyone. The scenery around their farm mingled with hiking with the alpacas just made it one of the most unique adventures we have done in awhile.
Our family planned an alpaca walk at Velvet Hall during our trip to Scotland and it was a lovely highlight that we’re still talking about! The scenery on the walk was gorgeous. The alpacas are easy to walk for someone who has never interacted with an alpaca :) They have sweet, quirky, very diverse personalities - it was fun learning about each individual alpaca from the owners. They also taught us about alpaca history, behavior, care regimen, and showed us their wool (which is about the softest thing I’ve ever felt.) It’s hard to go to Velvet Hall and NOT fall in love with these animals. Thanks for a fabulous and unique experience, Velvet Hall! Hope to be back soon!
