Responsible for educating some of Scotland's leading contemporary artists, The Glasgow School of Art is also listed as one of the top-ten architecture schools in the world. Appropriately, the school's campus is an architectural marvel, which visitors tour at an appointed time with a guide. The campus' central building, the Mackintosh, is the only building open to the public and houses a gallery that exhibits renowned contemporary artwork. Also known as the Mackintosh Museum, it is one of Glasgow's most popular cultural sites. If you're in town during the Degree Show, you can visit all the studios in the Mackintosh building and see the graduating year's final projects. The Glasgow School of Art! What a stunning building which was designed by the famous architect mackintosh. What a great historical building with very knowledgeable and convivial students. Please remember you can walk into almost any gallery/museum in Scotland for free. The fact that is a CRM design and probably his greatest work, should resonate with all Glaswegians he brought in countless millions of pounds to the city and country in tourism since his passing.

Beautiful building. Hope to see it back to its best ASAP. I was lucky to visit here before it’s first fire and it really is a sensational building inside and out. Such a massive piece of history for Glasgow and the world. It’s a must visit for anyone visiting Glasgow once it’s back to it proper state.
