Glengoyne Distillery, Glasgow

Distillery · Hidden Gem · Food & Drink
Founded in 1833, Glengoyne Distillery is a whitewashed, pagoda-roofed distillery that ages golden amber highland single malt whiskey for 10 to 21 years in oak casks. Its international awards and unique style of highland malt--they toast their barley with air instead of peat smoke--place this distillery on the map for whiskey apprentices and experts alike. Choose from tours geared toward different price ranges and levels of interest. Take a tour with the very knowledgeable guides so you know exactly what bottle you want to take home when you’re done. They give you at least one dram (shot) depending on the tour, so be careful not to drive immediately after. No photos are allowed inside the distillery. Put Glengoyne Distillery at the forefront of your travel plans using our Glasgow travel planner.

  • We had a great day at the distillery. Our tour guide Rebekkah did a fantastic job and we feel like we are whiskey experts now. Highly recommend a trip here when you are around.
  • My husband loves Scotch Whiskey so my Aunt treated us to the gold tour....I was a bit dubious I’d enjoy it as a wine lover...however it was terrific. Our tour guide was Gregg - knowledgeable and friendly. Tour was a good pace. Amazing history - lovely facilities. Small producer - made with pride and attention to history and detail. And certainly a selection we’d never get in Canada. Highly recommend the 90 minute tour & tasting.
