Athens of the North

World Heritage-listed Edinburgh combines ancient and modern in a uniquely Scottish atmosphere.
Museum-lovers will appreciate Royal Yacht Britannia and Dovecot Studios. Edinburgh Castle and Buchanan Street are good opportunities to explore the local culture. There's still lots to do: examine the collection at National Museum of Scotland, stop by Etch'd, browse the range of quality goods at Jenners, and contemplate the long history of The Real Mary King's Close.

If you are flying in from Japan, the closest major aiports are Edinburgh Airport, Glasgow International Airport and Glasgow Prestwick Airport. Expect a daytime high around 17°C in May, and nighttime lows around 7°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Wed) to allow enough time to travel back home.
