Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. Explore Fort William's surroundings by going to Camusdarach Beach (in Arisaig), Highland Titles Nature Reserve (in Duror) and Morar Beach (in Morar). There's still lots to do: appreciate the views at Glen Coe, identify plant and animal life at Glen Etive, enjoy some diversion at Ice Factor, and hike along West Highland Way.

Traveling by car from Edinburgh to Fort William takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and bus; or take a train. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 20th (Sat) to allow time to travel to Ullapool.

Ullapool is a village of around 1,500 inhabitants in Ross-shire, Scottish Highlands. Start off your visit on the 21st (Sun): take in breathtaking views at Corrieshalloch Gorge, then tour the pleasant surroundings at The Bone Caves, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Achmelvich Beach. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: tour the pleasant surroundings at Lael Forest Walks, then look for all kinds of wild species at Inverpolly Nature Reserve, then trek along Ullapool Hill, and finally look for all kinds of wild species at Knockan Crag National Nature Reserve.

You can drive from Fort William to Ullapool in 3 hours. In June in Ullapool, expect temperatures between 60°F during the day and 47°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 22nd (Mon) early enough to drive to Durness.

Durness
Durness is a village and civil parish in the north-west Highlands of Scotland. On the 23rd (Tue), enjoy the sand and surf at Durness Beach, then stroll through Balnakeil Beach, then stroll through Sandwood Bay Beach, and finally view the masterpieces at Mudness Ceramics. Keep things going the next day: enjoy the sand and surf at Sango Bay and then step off the mainland to explore Handa Island Wildlife Reserve.
