A favorite of beachgoers in Algarve, Praia Da Rocha is named for the beautiful cliffs and rocks near its shoreline. Though the sandy shores are ideal for playing with kids, taking long walks, or lounging in the sun, the area is called Rock Beach because of the cliffs. The blue waters have made this a favorite getaway for people from Portimao and beyond since the late 1800s. You'll have your pick of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, and clubs along Tomás Cabreira, an avenue across the top of the beach.
