Inverness, often described as the Gateway to the Highlands, is a thriving commercial and industrial center.
On the 11th (Tue), explore the historical opulence of Fort George, then enjoy the sand and surf at Nairn Beach, and then steep yourself in history at Urquhart Castle. On your second day here, enjoy the sand and surf at Dornoch Beach, pause for some serene contemplation at Nigg Old Church, and then take in the history at Culloden Battlefield.

Arisaig

Arisaig is a village in Lochaber, Inverness-shire, on the west coast of the Scottish Highlands. Start off your visit on the 13th (Thu): get outside with Silver Sands of Morar and then kick back and relax at Camusdarach Beach.

Glencoe or Glencoe Village is the main settlement in Glen Coe in the Lochaber area of the Scottish Highlands. On the 14th (Fri), identify plant and animal life at Highland Titles Nature Reserve, then have fun at Ice Factor, and then appreciate the views at Glencoe.

World Heritage-listed Edinburgh combines ancient and modern in a uniquely Scottish atmosphere.

Getting from Glencoe to Edinburgh by car takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of bus and train; or do a combination of bus and train.
