But this is deceptive: it's really big, you should definitely plan more than 1 hour. The exhibition offers a good insight into the German colonial period in Namibia, gives information about the individual ethnic groups such as Damaras..., you learn a lot about the flora and fauna of Namibia... Really interesting, you should visit!

Walvis Bay is a short 30 minute drive from here and you can do some trips to spot seals, flamingos and pelicans. You'll also go canoeing where seals come very close. Nice, a nice experience. Book it on time. We did it at Pelicans Tours and that was a good experience. In Swakopmund itself there is not much to experience.
Cute little Museum. With quite a bit of information about Namibia and its past. Worth a stop
Excellent museam, full of interesting exhibits and facts about Swakopmund and Namibia in general. This was great value for money and worth every cent spent. By far this is the very best museum that I've seen in the whole of Namibia. This was well worth the visit.
