Appreciate the striking blue domes of Masjid Nasional Al Akbar, one of the biggest mosques in Indonesia. You can climb the minaret to get a panoramic view of Surabaya from 68 m (223 ft), or enjoy the renowned calighraphy that decorates the mosque's walls. Be aware that only Muslim visitors can visit the floor of the prayer area--however, tourists can view the room from the balcony. The range of food stalls outside the mosque offer authentic local meals.
