It is on the hilly north side of the city with a non-obstructed view of the sky and with close access to the city that was planned to become the new capital of the Dutch colony, replacing Batavia . The observatory is named after the tea plantation owner Karel Albert Rudolf Bosscha, son of the physicist Johannes Bosscha and a major force in the development of science and technology in the Dutch East Indies, who granted six hectares of his property for the new observatory. To visit Bosscha Observatory and get the most from your holiday in Lembang, create itinerary details personal to you using our Lembang itinerary planner.

I like this place because we can see stars in the middle of the day! Besides, I already knew the place from the iconic scene of my childhood movie “Petualangan Sherina”. I came to Bosscha on the weekend. So, I couldn’t enter to it that day. I spent the rest of the day admiring Bosscha from the outside. Great building with such a unique rooftop. The yard is also comfortable to sit with. Wis another time I could really see the stars in the middle of the day at Bosscha :)
