Often described as nothing short of awe-inspiring, Cloud Rainforest to Reef Hike starts in the thick treetop canopy of Mount Alava and leads visitors down a moderately difficult scenic trail to the seaside village of Vatia. Pick up the the trail in the moss-covered trees of the mountain and then slowly descend to the tall hardwoods that form the ridge rainforest. As the climb winds down, the tall trees give way to low salt-resistant brush, sedges, and creepers. Charge your camera and make sure you wear walking shoes suitable for slippery and rugged mountain terrain. This listing is meaningless. I just spent a lot of time on Tutuila and as far as I know this does not refer to any real hike. The location is just a pin in the middle of the National Park. The park... more »
